Quick guidance for reliable visible-view and full-page captures.

Start a capture

1. Open a normal webpage you are authorized to save.
2. Click the TracePage PDF toolbar icon.
3. Choose Visible area or Full scroll page and click Capture page to PDF.
4. For Full scroll page mode, keep the source tab active in its browser window and avoid scrolling or typing while capture is in progress.
5. Open the downloaded PDF and review it before sharing.

If capture is unavailable

Full scroll page mode requires a normal http:// or https:// webpage and cannot control the Chrome Web Store or Chrome's built-in PDF viewer. Open a normal webpage and try again, or use Visible area when Chrome permits visible capture of that surface.

If a full-page capture has gaps or repeated content

• Wait for images and fonts to finish loading before starting.
• Pause videos, animations, carousels, and auto-refreshing content.
• Close menus, chat widgets, cookie banners, and overlays when possible.
• Keep the capture tab active until the download begins.
• Try Visible area mode for infinite-scroll or highly interactive pages.

If the PDF is labeled partial

Version 0.1 captures the vertical outer document at the current viewport width. It does not automatically scroll a separate inner panel or include horizontally hidden content. TracePage also stops at 120 frames, 100,000 CSS pixels, or 80 MB of original capture frames. When one of these boundaries affects the result, the filename and receipt identify the capture as partial rather than claiming completeness.

If no PDF downloads

• Check Chrome's Downloads page for a blocked or interrupted download.
• Confirm the browser allows downloads and that the device has free storage.
• Reload the webpage, reopen the extension, and try once more.
• On an unusually long page, capture a shorter section or use Visible area mode.

Capture-hash scope

The aggregate SHA-256 is derived from an ordered record of each captured JPEG frame's SHA-256 and byte length. It can help compare that frame set later, but it does not authenticate the website, verify an identity, prove that nothing was omitted, or determine legal status.

Privacy

Capture processing occurs on your device. TracePage PDF does not send page images, page text, URLs, generated PDFs, or usage analytics to the publisher or third parties. Read the full privacy policy.

Preparing a useful issue report

If you use the support channel associated with the Chrome Web Store listing, include the Chrome version, operating system, capture mode, approximate page length, and the exact error message. Describe the kind of page rather than sending a confidential URL or private capture. Never include passwords, authentication codes, financial details, health information, or other sensitive content.
